The Oklahoma Department of Transportation roadside signs  dedication ceremony was held on May 2, 2011 @ 9:00 A. M. near  the intersection of Ada Sipuel Avenue and Highway 81 in Chickasha, Oklahoma. The signs point the way to the Verden Separate One-Room Schoolhouse and the proposed museum location located at 315 Ada Sipuel Avenue in Chickasha.

Exhibits: Early Oklahoma: Black Hope/Black Dreams, Traveling Exhibit (An exhibit highlighting three African Americans who contributed significantly to the history of Oklahoma.  This exhibit made possible in part by the Oklahoma Humanities Council and the National Endowment for the Humanities.

 A Room With A Vision, the story of the Verden Separate One-Room Schoolhouse built in 1910 by an African American farmer, Allen Toles, was written and directed by W. Jerome Stevenson of Guthrie, Oklahoma. This story was first performed by DeLanie Brewer and directed by Stevenson during the Storytelling and Soul Food Evening event on February 11, 2010 at the University of Science and Arts in Chickasha, Oklahoma. this event  introduced LYJ-AAHS' participation in Oklahoma Tourism and Recreation Department's new initiative entitled, Soulful Stories: The African American Story in Oklahoma.  

A Video Compilation of Early Education Memories:   More than ten individuals provided an oral history of their one-room school memories. This video coincides with the memories of those individuals who provided their memories in written form.
